Three large wooden handle awls to drill holes through the book panel, layers of paper or leather as well as for use in sewing, pearlwork and other craft projects. Accurate hardened steel tips maintain sharpness. Press the awl with a small hammer to penetrate into heavier materials. Each of these awls has a different feel and weight in the hand, not to mention slightly different thicknesses at the point and at the steel shaft. See photos and dimensions below.
Each awl is also offered separately, return to the shop home page to buy individually. About 6.25 inches / 16 centimetres (full length). Handle only - 3.5 inches / 9 centimetres long. About 4.5 inches / 11 centimetres. Handle only - 1.75 inches / 4 centimetres.
Lighter shorter handle with thicker steel stitch. About 4.75 inches / 12 centimetres (full length). Handle only - 2.25 inches / 6 centimetres long. Note: I am a big fan of this poinon, but it should be noted that it has a slightly thicker metal tree, less smooth and straight compared to the other poinons offered in the shop. But he does the work and has a nice sensation in his hand, which makes him one of my favorites despite these small imperfections.
